Max Callari

Ritratto di Max Callari
biografia:

Max Callari was born in 1971 in the center of Rome and grew up among the oil colors of his father who taught him to cultivate the passion for painting and drawing by taking him with him to the renowned art galleries where he exhibited during the 70s/80s making him refine over time a personal and authentic sensitivity.
The result is the free choice of a training path, during his higher education followed by academic studies, alongside some important name in artistic scene: Fabio Vergoz, Giorgio Scalco, Emanuele Floridia, Romano Rizzato Lotto, Edolo Masci, Roberto Almagno, Empedocle Amato and art historians such as Maurizio Marini and Carlo Savini, whose precious teachings will accompany him and lead him to gain professional experience mainly in interior architecture as a technical designer at prestigious studios and in the following years also in contemporary art with the opening of his ART'S MOMENT Art Gallery inaugurated in Rione Sallustiano with an anthological exhibition of international artist Julianos Kattinis, later located in Rione Trastevere where he exhibited works by numerous emerging and established artists including the actor, theater director and sculptor Graziano Piazza and the architect, writer and painter Andrea Nikoaevic Ruffolo.
During his artistic evolution, photography has become his job but also his lifestyle and his language.
From the desire to invest in his talent with an intense period of preparatory training for the in-depth study of the subject already studied years before at the Academy of Fine Arts under the teachings of photographer Roberto Bossaglia, a historical figure of contemporary photography, starting from an analogical period Max Callari also arrives at digital developing a recognizable stylistic figure much appreciated in the last fifteen years on the occasion of personal and collective exhibitions, editorial publications and collaborations in various sectors of professional photography.
He uses his own technical equipment, camera bodies Leica, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Sony Alpha, Pentax to create various professional services, consistently preferring monochrome in personal projects in his favorite photographic themes such as architecture, portraits, street-photography, different types of reportage.
He has been described as "an excellent author with a style of refined simplicity" and his black/white "rich in colours".
Since 2023 he has also dedicated himself to writing, in 2024 he published "Granelli di Vita" (distributed by Mondadori Store, Feltrinelli, IBS, Rizzoli Bookstore, Amazon) a compendium of short stories and poetic texts that draw on everyday life, also inspired by personal life experiences of which the author tries to capture the essence and the "unseen" as in his particular photographic style.
This debut book also prepares the ground for his first novel which is scheduled for release by summer 2025.
He considers writing a complementary tool to his work as a photographer and through this new parallel path he interprets and tells the reality that surrounds him no longer only in black and white, but also "in color".
In 2025 he chose Noir di Max as his new stage name to represent his activities in the artistic and creative field.
