San Gimignano (September 4, 2013): iSculpture Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new sculptures by Davide Dall’Osso. The Colours of Transparency will be on view from September 19 through October 6, 2013, with an opening reception Thursday, September 19, from 6:00 – 8:30 pm.
Davide Dall’Osso will have a site specific installation at Castello di Casole entitled Dancing Transparencies, with an opening reception Tuesday, September 17, from 6:00 – 8:30 pm.

The material chosen by David Dall’Osso is the polycarbonate, waste material and of itself poor, but ennobled by the manipulations of the Artist. The sculptures of the series "Against the Wind", the busts as well as the entire figures, core of the show The Colours of Transparency, seem to crystallize ancestral movements. In these works we read the canons of "beauty" according to the artist: the faces of the classical to baroque drapery first manner, as far as the interactions between the plastic arts and theater performances. The visual memory of the artist, so attentive and receptive, finds full expression in his works but its peculiarity lies in what the eye does not see. The empty and full, colors and transparencies, suggest the "do not limit" of his sculpture, an artistic performance ever but be devoid of human presence. Light is an integral part of this ever-changing, the play of shadows is the vital element of the sculptures of David Dall. The fusion of polycarbonates allows David to produce works of different sizes suspended with transparency and lightness that refer to the ice and to molten glass.
From the fusion of all these elements take shape installation "Dancing Transparencies", where female figures, characterized by fluid forms and transparencies of matter, vibrate in unison with acacia leaves blowing in the wind. But it is not just a movement in the air, a shudder through the skin of those who dwell for a moment, intensity is generated by transparent creatures that seem to stem from a double dance movement and stasis, always oscillating between energy, strength and movement.

About Davide Dall’Osso:
The passion for theater, dance and visual arts led him immediately to choose the contamination of languages; This stimulated him to undertake a study on the body, space and matter. Davide also investigates the emotional valence of art and its public function as an engine for social change.
From the beginning of his artistic path, he mainly takes interest in the possibility to interpret, through sculpture, the spirituality of the contemporary man by searching its many forms, both conscious and not, achieved once released from the hold of religions. This aspect, mostly developed through psychology and the new “Tribal Rituals”.
His current work on polycarbonates concerns the possibility/impossibility to achieve, through fusion, a grade zero of the matter: the search for a void from which the creative process can regenerate.
