IDENTITY

Nero Gallery è lieta di presentare “Identity”, mostra collettiva che raccoglie 14 artisti, italiani e internazionali, ognuno dei quali è chiamato ad esplorare il concetto di identità.
In un clima sociale attualmente teso, Nero Gallery invita gli artisti ad esprimere la propria visione su un tema paradossale e difficile da decifrare. In effetti l’identità non può essere definita in modo univoco, è una realtà individuale o collettiva. Può essere intesa come il frutto del proprio bagaglio di esperienze, che siano corporee, emotive, interpersonali, oppure come sentimento collettivo, come senso di appartenenza ad un gruppo, idea che si realizza inevitabilmente attraverso la creazione di confini e frontiere nei confronti degli “altri”. L’identità si costruisce confrontando le similitudini e accentuando le differenze, definendo il Sé e l’Altro, l’appartenenza e l’estraneità. 
I 14 artisti approfondiscono questo tema utilizzando diversi supporti e tecniche: si passa dalle matite, agli oli, agli acquerelli. Anche le tecniche espressive sono molto differenti e variegate. Alcuni artisti optano per tonalità bianche e nere, altri comunicano attraverso un’esplosione di colori.
La mostra offre così una visione variopinta e complessa di questo concetto, spingendo lo spettatore a indagare su cosa sia davvero l’identità, a domandarsi se essa ci differenzi o al contrario ci unisca, ma soprattutto se l’essere umani sia superiore a qualsiasi identità personale.

IDENTITY

Nero Gallery is pleased to present "Identity", a collective exhibition that brings together 14 artists, both Italian and international, each of whom is called to explore the concept of Identity.
In a currently tense social climate, Nero Gallery invites artists to express their vision on a paradoxical and difficult to decipher theme. In fact, Identity can’t be defined univocally, it is an individual or collective reality. It can be understood as the result of one's own experience - whether bodily, emotional, interpersonal - or as a collective feeling, as a sense of belonging to a group, an idea that inevitably comes about through the creation of borders and frontiers towards "others". Identity is constructed by comparing the similarities and accentuating the differences, defining the Self and the Other, the belonging and the extraneousness.
The 14 artists delve into this theme using different media and techniques: they move from pencils to oils and watercolors. Even the expressive techniques are very different and varied. Some artists opt for black and white tones, others communicate through an explosion of colors.
The exhibition thus offers a colorful and complex vision of this concept, prompting the viewer to investigate what identity really is, to ask whether it differentiates us or, on the contrary, unites us, but above all whether to be human is superior to any personal identity.
