“...E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle” è l'ultimo verso dell'Inferno della Divina Commedia di Dante Alighieri. Dopo aver faticosamente attraversato la “natural burella” che collega l'Inferno alla spiaggia dell'Antipurgatorio, Dante e Virgilio alla fine contemplano lo stellato cielo notturno dell'altro emisfero: è un presagio del nuovo cammino di luce e di speranza dopo le tenebre precedenti, "come pura felicità dello sguardo".[1]

La galleria The Flat - Massimo Carasi riapre le porte al pubblico, dopo la protratta chiusura dovuta al Covid 19, con una collettiva che auspica una ripartenza.

Convinti che lo spazio fisico della galleria resisterà alle bordate delle innovazioni e rimarrà essenziale in quanto punto imprescindibile di incontro e condivisione con il pubblico, riconosciamo che Nessun uomo/donna è un’isol a anche nella propria solitudine (una solitudine affollatissima).

L’arte, in tutte le sue discipline, rimane il mistero più trascinante ed assistere in prima persona alle sue rappresentazioni rimarrà semplicemente di VITALE importanza.

Identifichiamo le opere d’arte con le stelle, a cui fa riferimento Dante, che illuminano il buio e in tale contesto abbiamo scelto per la mostra di fine stagione, una carrellata di lavori che vorrebbero plasmare una fisionomia dell’uomo contemporaneo con le sue passioni ed ossessioni in bilico tra dannazione e santità, sconcerto e speranza; sono opere che si riferiscono all’uomo ma non lo ritraggono direttamente. Ne evocano invece la presenza interpretando i feticci che egli lascia come tracce.

Gli artisti invitati, utilizzando nuovi e tradizionali media, adottano le più svariate tecniche per cogliere la dimensione umana con gesti talvolta semplici, altre volte categorici.

Pittura , scansione botanica, installazione, impiego di parti elettroniche, ready made reinterpretato, esplorano la dimensione dal buio verso una ritrovata via d’uscita.

"... And so we went out to see the stars again" is the last verse of Hell of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. After painstakingly crossing the "natural burella" that connects Hell to the beach of the Antipurgatory, Dante and Virgil at the end contemplate the starry night sky of the other hemisphere: it is an omen of the new path of light and hope after the previous darkness , "as pure happiness of the gaze". [1]

The Flat - Massimo Carasi gallery reopens its doors to the public, after the protracted closure due to Covid 19, with a group show that look forward for a restart of the axctivities.

Convinced that the physical space of the gallery will resist the broadsides of innovations and will remain  an essential meeting point to share with the public, we recognize that no man / woman is an island .

Art, in all its disciplines, remains the most enthralling mystery and witnessing its representations  will simply remain of VITAL importance.

The artworks in this show are like the stars, to which  Dante refers to and they  illuminate  a very dark path.

So for the end of the season program, we have chosen a roundup of works that trry to shape the physiognomy of contemporary human beings with their passions and obsessions, between damnation and holiness, bewilderment and hope.These are works that refer to woman/man but do not really portray them with their aspects. Instead  these “fragments” evoke human’s  presence by interpreting the fetishes that they  left behind as traces.

These artists, use  new and traditional media, adopting the most varied techniques to grasp their dimension with  simple, or sometimes, categorical gestures.

Painting, botanical scanning, installation, use of electronic parts, ready made reinterpreted, explore the space from the dark towards a rediscovered way out.
